- Ordered: Mushroom Cheeseburger, Cheeseburger, Hamburger all w/ baked potatoes
- Thoughts: If Port of Call’s burger is not the hands down favorite in NOLA, its fans certainly scream the loudest. POC makes most “tops” lists for its gigantic beef patty (choice of plain, cheese, mushroom, mushroom + cheese) and accompanying baked potato (w/ sour cream, cheddar cheese, mushrooms, or bacon + chive bits- or any/all of the above). In a world ruled by french fries, the enormous baked potato seems to be a welcome surprise for visitors (and whether you’re into it or not, there’s no other choice). While the burger is definitely good, it’s almost as if you’re intimidated into liking it. The ornate presentation of beef and potato taunts diners: “don’t like me, just try”. And while I think this would be hard, I’ve had better burgers. We’ll see how this compares to some of the quieter fan favorites: Yo Mama is next to try.
