Ordered: Duck Confit Meat Pie, Jambalaya, Chorizo Sausage link, Cuban Calzone, Hot Sausage Po Boy
Thoughts: We weren’t blown away by Crescent Pie & Sausage, but it is an interesting spin on Nola classics. The restaurant has a lively feel – even on a Monday afternoon when only 2 tables in the place were occupied. We ordered everything you’re supposed to: one of their tasty meat pies, their signature jambalaya, an example of their namesake, house-made sausages, their calzone and Joe even ordered their daily special – a pasta plate that included their popular mac and cheese. Everything was good, but nothing was really great. Luckily, their homemade sausage was the best of the bunch. Though it’s hard not to be swayed by the interesting menu, I’d stick to these sausages next time. Their adventurous flavor combos (namely, the calzone) just don’t seem to be as good as what they do best!
