Coop’s Place

  • Location: 1109 Decatur Street (French Quarter)
  • Date Visited: February 16th, 2012 w/ Z. Jerchower, J. Ostroth & D. Pearlman
  • Ordered: Lamb Ribs w/ pepper jelly, Gumbo, Po-Boys, Alligator Jambalaya
  • Thoughts: Coop’s is welcoming, friendly and affordable. They’re quick to take your order and pretty quick to get your food to you as well. For the French Quarter, that’s already a lot to ask. Stick to the New Orleans staples here: jambalaya, gumbo and po boys are all good; the lamb ribs leave a lot to be desired. (However, we’re interested in trying the duck quesadillas on the appetizer menu at some point and that’ll be going against our only piece of advice here our first time back. We’ll see how it goes!)
