Ordered: 2 Fried Eggs, Grits & Toast, Shrimp Creole Omelet
Thoughts: We ordered take out from Buffa’s breakfast menu on a rainy weekend morning. When we arrived to pick it up at around 11 AM, everyone in the place looked like they’d been there since the night before. Dive, we like it. The food was ready to go and packaged with all the condiments and plastic ware we needed, but alas when we opened it up it didn’t live up to its online review hype. My fried eggs were OK – greasy, but that’s to be expected from bar food. The grits were tasteless and cold, although when I added the salt packet they provided taste improved monumentally. The omelet was also OK but nothing special. While I’d like to write this one off I’m very tempted to give it another chance – maybe this time from their lunch or dinner menu, and this time we’ll have a seat and a beer in their popular back room.
